About SESA
SESA is the official student society for Software Engineering undergraduates in the Faculty of Science at University of Kelaniya.
Our mission is to help students build both technical ("hard") skills and interpersonal ("soft") skills, encouraging collaboration and creating unity among students throughout their academic journey.
We represent one of the pioneering software engineering degree programmes in Sri Lanka's state university system, fostering innovation and excellence in software engineering education.

SESA Premier League - 2K26
SESA Premier League 2K26 was a vibrant cricket tournament organized by SESA, University of Kelaniya. Held on 22nd February at Cyber Ground, it united undergraduates, lecturers, and graduates to strengthen friendships, teamwork, and community spirit while creating fun moments and lasting memories.
Azrael 7.0 - Celebrating Talent Beyond Code
Azrael 7.0 is SESA’s vibrant welcome event for incoming undergraduates, featuring a lively talent show by SETU’s 11th batch. Showcasing singing, dancing, and drama, the event celebrated creativity, unity, and the diverse artistic talents of software engineering students.
JuniorHack 7.0 - Empowering Young Minds Through Innovation and Collaboration
JuniorHack 7.0, organized by SESA, concluded successfully on November 15, 2025, as an inclusive Ideathon for 1st and 2nd-year undergraduates. Open to students from all faculties, the event attracted over 150 teams and offered a prize pool of LKR 50,000, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and innovative thinking among emerging university talent.
Fine-tuning a LLaMA Chat Model for Sri Lankan Law
There are lots of general-purpose AI chatbots out there, but they don’t really understand Sri Lankan legal context. Even when they try to answer, the responses are vague, inaccurate, or just plain wrong. I wanted to see if a smaller, specialized model could do better if it was trained specifically
